In-Patient Plan -- Local Plan

Medicard Local Plan enables the insured to receive hospitalization coverage at St George Hospital premises only. However, in cases of emergency or for any acceptable reason that will prevent the insured from gaining access to the facilities of St George Hospital, Medicard allows for the use of any hospital in the vicinity of the insured, who should give us a call on his whereabouts and reasons for using that chosen Hospital; pay his bill and we will gladly reimburse the insured with the amount paid, provided it matches our class offered, our billing system and an acceptable justification for having used the treating hospital in question.
In emergency cases where hospitalization is required outside St George Hospital, Medicard will cover the first 24 hours if the insured can be moved to St George Hospital. Otherwise, it will grant full coverage.
